Welcome to eJourn Development

This is the part well I welcome you to developing on eJourn, and I say thank you in advance:
Welcome to developing on eJourn, and thank you in advance.
But seriously, new developers are always welcome in whatever way they can contribute. If you'd like to get started send me an e-mail and tell me what you can do. Download, and read some of the headers if you like.

Communicating

Generally, I'd like development communique to go through the mailing list. You may also e-mail me directly.

I'm considering having an irc channel as well, and am looking for a good place to have a subversion and bug database. But I've not found anything at this point. My current server has no sql database.

Writing Plugins

If you are interested in writing plugins, please read the documentation on it: Plugin Documentation

There's no need to contact me for permission to write a plugin. I'll try and keep all up and coming plugins on the "Coming Soon" page so that you'll know. You don't even have to tell me at all, you can distribute on your own if you like; but it is of course preferable to try and get into the main distribution. So do contact me once you have something to show, or if you have any questions about the plugin architecture

Submitting Bugfixes

Bugfixes may be submitted to me, via e-mail (or on the list if they're under 32KB), as patches (diff -u please). I won't make your patches for you, so please make sure you keep that tarball you downloaded to make a patch against it. I do develop almost every other day on eJourn, so it's unlikely that you'll be working on the same source I am!

Serious Involvement

If you would like to get seriously involved with developing for eJourn (ie, a co-developer) please e-mail me and we'll discuss it. I'm in no way opposed to this becoming a larger project!

More Info

If you need more information, please tell me. Someone else probably needs it too and I'd like to include it on the website.
